Who is Dale Carnegie?

Dale Carnegie was driven to build leaders. His book, How To Win Friends and Influence People became one of the most influential, best-selling books of all time. Founded in 1912, Dale Carnegie Training evolved from one man’s belief in the power of self-improvement to a performance based training company with offices in all 50 of the United States and over 90 countries. Dale Carnegie Training programs are presented in over 30 languages and are utilized by over 420 of the Fortune 500 companies.

What if a student can’t attend all the classes?

Most students have a heavy schedule and that is why we provide make up classes. There are one or two make up days held towards the end of the program. Make up opportunities are also available with other public classes in session.

Does this course include homework?

Many parents are initially concerned about the level of work associated with the program. There is little to no written homework involved. Students are expected to apply what is learned and use it outside the training. They give oral reports on their experiences. Students learn tools that will promote proactive habits, decrease stress, and build on the skills needed to excel academically, in leadership roles, and in life.

Should I put Dale Carnegie on a resume?

Students are encouraged to add their Dale Carnegie experiences to college, military, vocational programs, internships, and job resumes. Interviewers tell us they are impressed when hearing a student has participated in a Dale Carnegie Young Adult Program. Dale Carnegie Training is recognized worldwide as one of the global leaders in the adult training field. We work with over 420 of the fortune 500 companies, and are accredited for continuing education credits.

How do I know if my university will accept Dale Carnegie credit?

The American Council of Education (ACE) recommends college credit for Dale Carnegie Programs. The Dale Carnegie Young Adult Leadership Program is recommended for 2 credits in Communications. Many universities accept ACE’s recommendation but they are not required to.

What is a student coach?

At the beginning of the program, students are assigned a “student coach” or “graduate assistant.” Coaches are exactly that, previous graduates of the Young Adult Leadership Program who volunteer to come back and work with other students. Coaches are there to be used as a resource, track a student’s growth, and encourage a student to push themselves outside their comfort zone when appropriate. Student coaches are able to take the program for a second time. They gain tremendous additional coaching from the Dale Carnegie Instructor and further develop their leadership abilities.

What is the appropriate age group?

The Dale Carnegie Young Adult Leadership Program is open to students ages 14-19. Most classes held during the year are High School Students. Summer classes include college students.

Who teaches the classes?

Dale Carnegie Training is known for having one of the most rigorous and demanding instructor training certifications. Instructors work primarily in the business and communications fields and must be certified to instruct our adult programs before they can apply to work with our Young Adult Programs. Dale Carnegie requires continuous development and recertification annually.

Students will have the benefit of working with trainers that meet them where they are and help them become a better version of themselves.

How much does it cost?

The World Famous Dale Carnegie Course Skills for Success is $2,195.00 per person. The Dale Carnegie Young Adult Leadership Program has the same learning objectives as the adult class, it is just tailored and put in context for youth. We have substantially discounted this program and it is offered at $1,375.00 per person.  529 plan eligible for payment.
